Garden on rainy August day

lima beans
all three beds, from both directions

The basil needs picking again--I already have two batches of pesto in the freezer.

Images of August

"Teddy bear" sunflower
"Persian carpet" zinnia
native honeysuckle (L. sempervirens) and the visited(!) hummingbird feeder
My first, but not my last, Coreopsis

As summer wanes; okra takes off

The okra has been the success of the season, as the peppers and even the tomatoes balked at the heat. I'll plant even more next year--it is so much prettier than even what you can get at the farmers' market, and look at these flowers!
Here it is in the "good bed"--the one that produced lots of eggplant and lima beans too, with the one pepper plant that actually produced peppers.
